My friend Annie Lim Kawpeng, nominated me to write something positive that I should share today. A lot of friends ask me what is the secret to your beauty? The question always give me pause. Me? And I think of what I go through, what everyone goes through: high blood pressure, insomnia, lack of ability to concentrate, irritability, LBM, indigestion, cold hands, numbness, so many things. But stress is the culprit, and sadly, a very real and natural part of our daily lives. When stress occurs, it can be overwhelming. When all is said and done, I calm myself down and I ask myself-do I know what stresses me? Can it be controlled? We all know how even the smallest stress can become an object crushing everything in is path into misery and despair if we allow it to happen. The difference then becomes a choice. It all depends not on the events but on how we view it. We ma not be able I choose many circumstances in our lives, but we can certainly choose how we will react to them. Prayer is a discipline, like obedience to Gods word and willingness to submit to everything in life to his ultimate glory. Next: listen to him. Reading the scriptures also acquaints me with God as he reveals himself in me. There is more to learn, more to discover, both in scholarly analysis and in quiet epiphanies. The more I come to this point in my inner being the more willing I am to leave myself in his hands, with calm assurance that he will do as he wills. It means surrender. Giving yourself up to God. That is how we should deal with the stresses of the spirit. How about the mind? The same! For the exercise of faith is an expression of will, and an expression of will is an expression of choice, and an expression of choice is an expression of intellect. Faith and intellect go side-by-side, remember that. Gods peace is always available for the asking- regardless of external circumstances. That is how we reclaim our peace of mind- knowing that God is in our hearts and that we are in the hearts of God. But in addition
