My friend Kathy Holloway confessed that she didnt give a hoot about the Superbowl, but enjoyed the commercials. Said she didnt know a fullback from a halfback from a quarterback. Being sympathetic and a former newspaper sports reporter (of sorts), I felt I should enlighten her a bit. Since she may have other face book sisters and brothers in a similar uninformed state, I thought Id share what I wrote her--I dont think shed mind. Heres what I told her: Kath, at your age, how can you be so ignorant? A fullback had a complete meal before the game:appetizer, main course, dessert; A halfback had only the main course. A quart-erback only had a quart of Gatoraide. There, that should help. Im busy and have to watch the Kentucky basketball game or Id try to teach you more about football before the game tomorrow night. Sorry about that.
