My gift of today was very precious, so I must share. Starting with a beautiful sunrise over the bridge to Ocean CIty. And then tonight was pretty awesome too. Tonight, I was having dinner with some of my Auxiliary friends in Ocean City and as special entertainment, they booked a man from Baltimore, who was a Veteran. You could tell from looking at him that he had some paralysis, possibly from a stroke, but that didnt stop him. He slowly made his way to the floor of the ballroom, and sang, song after song, after song. His voice was clear, his selections all dedicated to those workers who never forget Veterans. One in a Million Aint No Sunshine Hollywood Swingers Betcha By Golly Wow Unforgetable and the list went on and on. He sang nonstop about 10 songs, no break. And dedicated every song to the volunteers because it was just his honor to be there. And he was so happy to do it. Closing thought, no matter how rough life seems to be, no one is responsible for your happiness but YOU! Rather than be miserable or depressed or sit in a chair all day, this man is out living and enjoying life. And using his gifts to bless and honor people. So, as we get ready to head into November and celebrate Veterans Day, think what you can do to help a Vet out. Have you all heard of MCVET which is a group that helps homeless veterans in Baltimore? Look them up. I will post a photo as soon as I steal one of our wonderful entertainment. Stand by!
