My grandmother, Anna Mae Fletcher (my mothers mother) died this - TopicsExpress

My grandmother, Anna Mae Fletcher (my mothers mother) died this evening. She had been rushed to ICU from a health care facility (in Uniontown, PA) on Thursday, but appeared to be doing well, with some aspiration issues the reason for the hospitalization. Less than 30 minutes after she was transferred from ICU to a regular room, she passed peacefully. She would have been 95 on Columbus Day. A delightful person with a very sharp, crisp, sense of humor, and a steady loyal faith, she had no education beyond high school but worked at a florists and cooked meals for the church and the Lions Club in her home town of Cowen, WV. She was still sewing and quilting and reading voraciously. Her husband Huling Fletcher died 19 years ago. For the last 10-plus years (up until the last few months in the health care facility) she lived with my parents in Uniontown. She was the sort of under-the-radar but incredibly reliable person whose impact was always underrated but crucial. I will miss her, and so will many people.
