My heart breaks for my generation. Weve become so wrapped up in outer beauty and have seemed forget about inner beauty- the place where TRUE beauty resides. Ive had several people yell at me and tell me that my True beauty campaign is stupid because no guy looks at a girls heart, and that outer beauty matters more, but as I see the pain in the eyes of the teenage girls in the younger generation, I cant stay silent anymore. Today, I saw 10 year old girls trying to dress like they were 18 and 16 yr old girls dressing like they were trying to find their Prince Charming to roll up on an inflated shark float at the pool. Weve let society tell our sisters, friends and daughters that their worth comes from how they appear on the outside rather than how beautiful they are on the inside. And weve taught our brothers, friends and sons to look at a girl and see their outer beauty with his eyes rather than look at the beauty in her heart and soul. Weve created a generation full of pain and suffering. Weve created a stigma and standard that only the elite Hollywood actresses and actors seem to get correct and make everyone else feel like they have no worth when in reality, that couldnt be any more wrong. We need to teach boys to view a girl PROPERLY instead of property and we need to teach our girls about self respect and worth. All in all, The Lord inspired my TRUE BEAUTY campaign to start back again. Stay tuned for details.
