My heart is so heavy today. Belly Dancers, musicians, friends and family all over the world are mourning the loss of John Bilezikjian . He passed away this morning. I performed with him so many times over 20 years and every single time he was humble, kind, supportive and warm-hearted...no matter what was going on in his life. He was a GIANT in the world of music. I always felt like a bit of a peon around him but he always ended up making made me feel like a queen. He treated even the beginning, unseasoned dancers like they were the most incredible dancers he had ever worked with. His warm smiled bathed the dancers to calm their nerves. John was respected by musicians and artists all over the world. His music was in many films, many commercials and in many record/tape/CD players of artists whom he inspired. Google the name JOHN BILEZIKJIAN. You will be amazed by this man who had a heart of gold. Here is just a taste of him playing with Leonard Cohen.
