My home town was and is known as “The Cowboy Capital” and “Queen of the Cowtowns.” Others may claim to the same title but come on, where is Bandera? When the question came up of ‘where are you from’ you just said “Dodge City” as it seemed everyone would know exactly what you were talking about – even in Paris. We are the Old West or the beginning of the Old West as defined as west of the 100th meridian. Mexico was on the other side of the river in the 1800’s.
