My icebreaker for uni...My object has little monetary value, but steeps high in emotional and sentimental value. I dont have family heirlooms, but I have one that has been created to pass down. My Partner and I took a bank holiday trip to Ilfracombe, Devon in 2012. We adore the country scenery and enjoy traveling. One of the destinations we visited on our trip was Tunnels Beaches. Tunnels Beaches was hand carved in 1823 by Welsh miners to allow easy access to Crewkhorne cove and then built three tidal bathing pools, two for ladies and one for gentlemen. To access the bathing pools you descend down a narrow tunnel and are welcomed by an amazingly beautiful sight of the open sea. You then proceed to travel down to a beach of slate, all sizes, and 2 of the remaining pools. We instantly fell in love with Tunnels Beaches, with myself proclaiming thats where I want to be married. My partner and I both took a piece of slate home as a memory of our idyllic trip. For Christmas last year, my partner presented me with my Christmas present, both of our pieces of slate mounted in a beautiful frame with a plaque reading Tunnels Beaches, April 2012 This is proudly displayed in our living room, whenever I look at it it brings back the beauty and the love of the place we have. It also brings me a feeling of thats where we are meant to be at the most important time of our lives when it eventually happens - our marriage.
