My job has been top notch over the last two days and Im extremely thankful for it. The Indiana Statewide IT conference happened here on IUs campus and I took full advantage of it. I got to network with IT colleagues from all over the country, learn and play with toys of the future, and generally open up several doors for my career. Highlights: -Listening to New York Times technology editor on the scope of futurology -Playing with Oculus Rift 1 & 2, Google Glass, 3Doodler Pen, projectile infrared keyboards, lego battlebots, and 3D printers. -Eating gourmet food 3 times a day (including my weight in cheesecake) both days -Employee Appreciation (3 separate food buffets and 3 separate bars) in my own building with hundreds of colleagues and then getting forced to the basement TWICE because of Tornado warnings -Personally meeting and mingling with the IT Directors of 6 different universities -Exploring new areas of IUs campus (top 20 most beautiful annually) -Listening to the Chief Information Officers of IU, Michigan, and Florida discuss collaboration efforts that are about to change the world of higher education (think Google and Wikipedia combined for universities) -Broadening my knowledge of general technology and getting insight on many potential career paths
