My letter to someone who emailed me about Marissas actions on the - TopicsExpress

My letter to someone who emailed me about Marissas actions on the day of her arrest and to all those who have something critical to say: _________, I appreciate your diligence in responding to this email. There are circumstances surrounding this case that I am not privy to mention. Although, Marissa may not have made the most favorable decisions throughout this entire situation, keep in mind that she was NINE DAYS from having a premature baby with the man who admittedly abused her. It is easy for us to point to what the victim should and should not do (such as in the case of Ray and Janay Rice as well), however, as a Relationship Expert, I understand and teach the biological, psychological, and emotional aspects of domestic abuse and its affects on the behavior and decisions of the victim. Its not as easy as, Why dont she just leave? Many choose to focus more on the victim, rather than the psychological abuse that she/he has sustained. That is unfortunate in this society, and has caused many to victimize victims even further. We can all choose to look at the glass as half full or half empty. However, as you stated, Marissa has three children and does not deserve to spend 20 years behind bars. I highly recommend a comprehensive look into the lives and mindset of DV victims, and here is a presentation that I conducted on the topic. https://youtube/watch?v=zTBcr099lho Again, your time in reading my email is appreciated. Thank you for your blessings for my endeavors. Coach D
