My little adopted girl turns six end of August. One year ago - TopicsExpress

My little adopted girl turns six end of August. One year ago everything changed. I stopped being on time, stopped vehemently pursuing my career, stopped going out on Friday nights, and started stopping to smell flowers, look around, throw rocks and see the world anew. She’s been an incredible teacher. She’s taught me about relationships; that there’s no such thing as being too busy, because I can always make time for what’s important. There’s a lot that I’ve given up, but they aren’t sacrifices. And that it’s okay to share your feelings because that’s the only way we can understand and fix the problem. She’s taught me about love; that I can care for someone so much I would give up everything for them and my heart can break much more easily. She’s taught me about life; six years has gone by so quickly and I’ve realized that life is short and my time with him is limited. So I try to remember to make the most of our time together. This year will have some new big adventures. Top of her list is to see volcanoes in Hawaii. She’s taught me about the world; it’s full of magic and things aren’t so complicated as we make them. He’s taught me about friendship; the rough men that I hold as friends would lay down their lives for me or take them to protect me, become so gentle and caring around my daughter. I get to see another side of them when theyre with her, and it makes them the best people that I know. I love you my little girl!
