My major concern in the Supplementary Budget proposed by PLSG is - TopicsExpress

My major concern in the Supplementary Budget proposed by PLSG is the over #25million for a Land Cruiser Jeep & over #7million for a Toyota corolla for two top judicial officers. Inasmuch as these amounts are outrageous, that is matter for another day. My immediate worry is the deliberate refusal by this government to make systems work. Why so much emphasis on projects & purchases at the expense of functional systems? The last thing in the minds of these senior judicial officers is vehicular comfort. Not as if they currently do not have befitting official vehicles, in fact, a few years back, brand new Toyota Camry cars were purchased for top judges on the Plateau. What these officers really desire is the filling up of too many vacancies that frustrate justice delivery system in the state. Too much work to do but very few hands to carry them out. The few judges available each have too many case files to handle leading to lengthy adjournments. Even administrative work within the courts are frustrated due to under-staffing. Isnt that where the desired impact on the judiciary would have been felt more if the governor truly wanted to improve it? The cry is the same in all MDAs of the state, so the governor is well aware of the sorry state of the public service under his watch. He is just not interested in having functional systems, only in whatever would bring in the kickbacks. If not How would one explain nearly 8 years of non-significant employment within the civil service despite retirements, resignations & deaths? No promotions within the same period, & despite the depleted work force, payment of salaries has become a miracle: very rare! Many unemployed citizens are still struggling to come to terms with the government fleecing them of thousands of naira in the name of a phantom employment into the states higher institutions. What a shame! What exactly is going on in the mind of our governor/pastor & father of the state? From the body language of our governor, its obvious where his interest lies. Little wonder many would vow on their lives that he is very corrupt! A strong debate topic I guess...
