“My mom is amazing. It astonishes me how much she does. She helps my brother and me with school. She does ministry inside and outside our home. Cooking and cleaning are daily projects for her. Among all the chaos of daily life, she still [finds time to learn the] language. Developing a ministry for the monthly habits of women called the Pad Project, mom spends most of her time [communicating from home]. She also helps people in our company with medical questions. Since my brother and I are homeschooled, mom also helps us with our school questions, explains things we don’t understand and grades our assignments. Another one of her daily challenges is cooking. Since everything is cooked from scratch, it takes forever to make a meal. Luke*, my brother, and I help with the cleaning, so it makes it a little easier for her, but it is still a daily challenge. Now, you can see why my mom is awesome.” Rose* is a 14-year-old TCK (third culture kid) whose family is serving in South Asia. This is the tribute she wrote for her mom for Mothers Day.
