My mom would have been 74 this past Friday. I made this video as a tribute to her. Many of you know about the challenges she faced while dealing with her bipolar disorder and then in her later years, with dementia. But she remained courageous and funny and blessed with an unquenchable spirit and thirst for life throughout her journey. She gave me many gifts--my sense of humor, my love of books and music and dancing, her unwavering love. In the final 18 years of her life, she kept me on my knees at the throne of God, praying on her behalf. In the end, that may have been her greatest gift to me.
