My moment with a legend. Working a show at the civic center years ago. I Watched James Brown pull up In a limo. Two huge body gaurds let two ladies, James and the lil guy who throws his cape on him out of the car. As one of the ladies step over a cement barrier in high heels, Mr. Brown gives her a hand, as she wobbles a bit James gives his legendary grunt and says get on the good foot then laughs. In awe, I look over at Wes Goode and hes looking at me with a holy shit look on his face and says no one will ever believe us. I laughed and said who cares. Then, right before the show Mr. Brown invites me to his radio interview and I got to witness the man himself do his thing live on the radio. But the coolest part was later Mr. Brown calls me by name and takes my hand during the band prayer circle before the show. A memory of a lifetime. One of the nicest stars Ive ever met. Go see the movie he is and always be the God father of soul. R I P JAMES BROWN.
