My morning went like this: Left home 06h40 to ensure I would be able to get to the office at 07h30, in good time to do a Tender. There was an accident just before Marlborough, and there we sat in first gear for 45 minutes. Then I noticed my petrol light was flashing, so got off the highway, filled up, and wisely took the back routes - because, of course, at that late hour, the remainder of the journey would be more of the same. Nevertheless, the journey took 2H15M. When I (finally) arrived, there were no more parking bays left, so our security guard tried to direct me to a parking bay that actually would challenge even the Stig of Top Gear. So into reverse I put the car, and smashed into a wall in my blind spot. Please bear in mind that I had only collected the car from the panel beaters on Friday. Had I kept the rental car until today - which I could have done but decided not to - it would have been more cost effective to have bumped that instead of my own car. What a fabulous start to a Monday ...
