My mother died on Halloween many years ago. Parkinsons. I - TopicsExpress

My mother died on Halloween many years ago. Parkinsons. I remember singing Ding Dong The Witch is Dead. She never accepted I was gay. Or creative. It was a cold night with a full moon and blowing leaves at the Charles Manor Nursing home in Baltimore. Hard to forget. The hallways were filled with paper skeletons and cob webs. I remember a dementia patient coming up to me and singing something from the SOUND OF MUSIC. I think it was Climb Every Mountain. I was kind to her and my mother. My mother did make sure I was the first to graduate from college on either side of my family. A good college. She sacrificed for that. And that lead to tonight. Brian and I will roam the halls of LACMA with painted Chearney costumes. I half expect to find my mothers ghost wandering through the galleries. I think she would be pleased. Not sure she would understand my costumes. Her favorite color was white :)
