My mother was a domestic worker, she passed away on her way from her work. She looked after her white boss kids to put food on our table. She died when I was young and if I were to meet her in the street today I wouldnt know her. I took a conscious decision to look after our helper better because thats the right thing to do. She is not my maid she is my kids grandmother and a mother to us. I know her family and she is part of our family. I would have failed her if she retires from my household under the same conditions I found her in. Steve Biko didnt die for this shit!
