My mother will be celebrating her 80th birthday this month. I wanted to create something special, and different, for her. She is always complaining that theres not enough color in the back yard, so using scraps and shards from my stained glass, I tried something entirely new--- A neighbor was throwing away a large dresser mirror, so after asking if I could have it, I used it as the background inspiration. I created a mosaic. Below are pictures of the individual color sections as well as the larger picture. I have yet to caulk/seal the piece and the wood will be painted a lovely shade of blue, while also receiving a coat of polyurethane to better weather the elements. Ill post the finished image when its complete. And a special shout-out to Jerry and Miles over at Lowes for their suggestions and support!
