My mum thinks that I look like a proper musician by the way I hold - TopicsExpress

My mum thinks that I look like a proper musician by the way I hold it. And says I looked like I was born to do it. Even though I play drums too, I know how significant the bass is for me. Type O Negative was more or less the reason why I ended up wanting to learn it, but due to the necessities of being a drummer I thought Id be good to learn bass too. And perhaps fitting as the late Peter Steeles greatest talent wasnt just his unique vocal range but his ability to play the four string. When it comes to his playing, he was unique. It seemed hed play it like an electronic guitar and its all just timeless. When I talk about music Im always on about Paramore, ADTR, Brand New and Circa Survive but these bands gave me my musical heart but the real soul came from Type O Negative and The Smashing Pumpkins (although even with the loss of Peter, my affection for TON has never waned). Most bands made me wanted to take to drums (Zac Farro before he departed from Paramore and Steve Clifford of Circa) but the bass is something else. I had noticed for a while that my tutor would bring out the bass during my lessons and it occurred to me! I have one at home and Im not using it. Of late Ive been listening to loads of TON and it clicked. However this wont be the end of me on the drums. I am awed by my look of confidence with the bass. With drums due to the noise Im restricted to what I can do but I can practice on my bass without an amp so I can strum to a hearts content. However being proficient in both gives me more avenues to learn music. What is there to lose? Music is perhaps my greatest comfort. Now there are sides to me, a) the politics, b) the thinker and visionary, c) the traveller and this is the d) the inner musician. This is perhaps the most personal of the lot. Okay Im done. Chris.
