My office is a mess... but in the process of looking for a file that I know I filed properly (so I could easily locate it quickly!) but which has clearly been beamed up by aliens, I came across my collection of hilarious student essays --- this is a compilation of some of the best that I collected when I was teaching college level history, as well as some of the best from other profs. Here is one of my all time favorite opening lines on a paper about the Russian Revolution in a course that I taught titled Modern Europe, 1800-Present ---> The poor pheasants were tired of being revolting and joined together to get rid of the Russian car and it started a not so civil war that was no fun for anyone. Ya gotta laugh or youll cry....
