My one and only #imsorockford #imsosouthwest #imsosouthside I made it my business to go down on the corner of S. Main and Marchesano, by One Stop Pharmacy and get Mexican corn! Id go to Roma Bakery (in the same plaza as One Stop) to get their amazing cherry donuts. I use to go to Boxs BBQ (off Marchesano kiddy corner from Providence Baptist Church)and get fried chicken dipped in barbecue sauce, barbecue fries and a grape can pop. Id go to Joes Darriette, off Central and Montague, to get a cherry and lemon granita, or a unusual with cherry granita and lemon ice cream with sprinkles, or a lemon ice cream twinkle cone and a Chilli cheese dog. Id go to Bings and get a port tenderloin, a cheese fry and a strawberry dip cone. Oh let me not forget I worked and ate at Marshawns BBQ (yep, named after yours truly)off W. State and Avon. I ate penny candy, barbecue cheese burgers and barbecue fries, vanilla ice cream cones, fried fish, ribs, rib tips, spaghetti... shoot anything we served! Oh and wed (me and my friends Emtesha Newble and Tiana McCall) have fish frys which consisted of fish and spaghetti. I met my cousin Angel Crowder-Johnson, for the first time at her dads resturant,(I cant remember the name) off W. State St. The old St. Paul was off Rose and Harding.I remember when they changed Wigton Ave to Bishop Washington Ave after my then pastor, the pastor of St. Paul C.O.G.I.C. I think thats it... oh yea one last thing... All the black chruch folks would check out LaTashias parents, Mr. Darby and his wifes clothing store (cant remember the name of it - something Fashion). My momma, Gretchen Hudson, would make me drive to Jet Beauty supply to get her stockings for church on Sunday mornings... WOW back down memory lane...
