My opponent cannot win on this kind of lies, propaganda and mud slinging. Not ONE WORD IS TRUE. He came to TWO meetings, learned he could not campaign and NEVER CAME BACK. This is going to backfire on him and Marc Guthrie his mentor. My BlockWatch is NOT HAPPY WITH THIS. And Mr. Rolletta they are voting. Good luck with lies. This is a letter to residents of Newark’s 4th Ward. Wow, what having a hard-working opponent will do to wake up an incumbent council person! I’ve lived in the 4th Ward for more than twenty years, and I know that crime has been a consistent problem in our area. Youthful council candidate Alex Rolletta has made safety issues priority one from the very minute he announced his candidacy. He even talked about it in his Advocate announcement in January. I first met Alex Rolletta when he came to my door in April, and he’s been in our neighborhoods talking about safety ever since. Rolletta is going to work hard with Jeremy Blake, and Dee Hall to bring back community policing. I was instrumental in sustaining a block watch in the 4th Ward years ago, so I know firsthand that they’re effective. We also had community policing. It works. I was glad to see candidate Alex Rolletta say from day one, that he is committed to establishing block watches. Alex Rolletta talks about improving police response times, and establishing neighborhood gatherings to address crime and property maintenance issues, and suddenly the incumbent starts organizing neighborhood block watch meetings a few months before Election Day – almost two years after being appointed to the job! Seriously? This resident wants a councilman on the job from day one. Alex Rolletta has displayed a work ethic, sincerity, and maturity, and I hope I’m one of many ward residents who see we his fresh face and new ideas on City Council.
