My parents brought me up to respect my elders; the main reason was simply because theyre older. But Ive come to learn that apart from age, respect is also to be earned. And I have absolutely no respect for anyone who hasnt earned my respect. I had the singular, unfortunate experience of sitting next to a middle-aged man in a cab; hes probably in his fifties. A political debate began in the car and soon turned to the issue of rape. That was when this man, opened his mouth, and said that if his daughter were to be raped while wearing a miniskirt or some skimpy clothing, he would blame her and let the rapist go free. Serves her right, he said. The contempt I felt cannot be measured in the Richter scale. I saw red. I was unaware my mouth was open sef. I vaguely realised I was talking. I gave him more than a piece of my mind; the kind that he will not recover from in a long, long, time! Kai! How can a man say such a thing? I asked him, So, if a thief breaks into your home and shop, and carts away your goods and expensive household items, you would let him go free, after all, you dared to own such costly things? And probably didnt have enough security doors? A man with gray hair OWNING stupidity in such a grand style. And not ashamed to publicize his rubbish belief! I pitied his daughters. For a moment, I wished someone would rape him, so hed know what it feels like. *spits* THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR RAPE!!! Instead of blaming rape victims and empowering rapists, we should tell the truth: RAPE IS A VILE, HORRIBLE, SIN and every offender should have his penis cut off -if its a man and if its a woman, she should be fed to crocodiles! Stop telling women Dont be raped and start teaching everyone that rape is bad!!!
