My primary focus in Congress is American Competitiveness. Just like states and counties across the country compete for jobs, countries around the world vie to host employers every day. But Washington has not adopted that competitive attitude. I have worked extensively with Harvard Professor, and competitiveness guru, Michael Porter. Google his credentials if you want to be impressed. He has an 8 point plan to make America competitive once again. Tax reform is at the top of the list. I have brought Dr. Porter to Congress 3 times to educate congress men and women on what it takes to be competitive in the world. So far I have gotten him in front of over 100 congress men and women. It wouldnt be that difficult to once again be the most competitive country in the world. As the article below indicates the low cost alternative, China, is losing its edge. All we need to do is have Washington adopt the same competitive attitude as many of our counties and states, like Texas and South Carolina have already done.
