My problem with Slavery isnt primarily the suffering of mistreated slaves. Its the suffering of people, the concern for which, by the people responsible for their welfare, entirely neglects any aspect of their well being that does not have a negative impact on production. In other words, they were still being treated as animals which deserve no consideration beyond their economic importance to Masters bottom line, and not as human beings worthy of being shown love and respect or treated with dignity.
