My reply to this on IFLS: GMOs are not inherently evil, yes that is true. The problem with GMOs currently are companies like Monsanto and how they shit all over small farmers, poor countries, etc. Yes, this is not a myth, I lived in Romania when Monsanto first showed up and saw it happen. So, to say that GMO crops/seeds/animals are unnatural is just a by-line out of a shock jock, but to say they are natural and harmless is to say the same thing about fossil fuels. We need to evolve past them and not put so much power into the very few at the top of the totem pole of industry. Anything that is allowed to be profit-driven - ESPECIALLY SCIENCE - is asking to take it up the ass. (yes, I am a Blue Skies hippy.) Also, I am using GMO to mean Transgenics. Thanks for that clarification. I had never heard it before.
