Do it now!: Dear Peter: Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to U.S. foreign aid for Azerbaijan. I appreciate the time you took to write, and I welcome the opportunity to respond. As you may know, the Presidents Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 Budget requests $12.7 million in U.S. foreign aid to Azerbaijan, $826,000 below the estimated FY 2014 funding level. The Presidents Budget also proposes maintaining Foreign Military Financing assistance parity between Armenia and Azerbaijan at $1.7 million for each country. I understand that you oppose all U.S. military aid to Azerbaijan. As a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, which has jurisdiction over foreign aid funding, please be assured that I have made careful note of your preferences, and I will keep them in mind as the Committee considers appropriations legislation in the coming months.
