My sister died while at a trip to the craft show at Spraguebrook - TopicsExpress

My sister died while at a trip to the craft show at Spraguebrook Park 17 years ago today. She was with one of her closest friends, Mary Lou Laetner. Not the best of adverts for the craft show. Ive never wondered what it would have been like if she had lived that day. Long and short of it, she died of an enlarged heart due to a birth defect or blunt force trauma to the chest. Cause is not the point. When the autopsy results were back, I took them to our physician. Lenora, had she lived, would have had to lead a very different life than she was leading. In short, even with a heart transplant, she would have been an invalid. Am I thrilled she died...no. Am I thrilled she is in no pain and whole waiting for us....yes. As of today, I will remember the day she left, but I will not dwell on it. Next Sunday will be her birthday. I will, weather permitting, spend it the same way I spent in on the first birthday after her death. A thermos of International Coffee, a couple of moms good china cups and we will have our moment...just like we ended every visit. Just for you, Lenora....until we can sing it again.
