My son, Matt just left last night for a 2 month exploration of Great Britain, along with an "apprenticeship" near Dover. Had everything ready and together, or so he thought. When he arrived at customs at Heathrow, the question was asked, "why are you here?" Matt stated, "Im doing an internship", which was followed by, "may I see your work visa?" He had no work visa. Guess what happened then? They put him in a holding cell and are in the process of sending his butt back to where he came from. He will be in this small room until 7 AM tomorrow and then will have to endure a 12 hour layover in Chicago. WOW! So there goes a summer college adventure of a lifetime, down the drain. They also told him not to go home and then return to London stating that he was on vacation, as that he is now red flagged.
