‘My son was murdered before my eyes’ Srinagar, October 05:The father of Lassa Khanday has said he was killed by a mob while they were on their way to the hospital with his son. Lassa Khanday was abducted and later found dead in the nearby forest area inKejai areaofPaddertehsilin Kishtwar on August 10. Lasa’s father Mahmud Khanday said he was taking his grandson to the hospital when the mob attacked the ambulance and killed Lassa onspot. “I along with my son Lassa Khanday were taking my grandson Altaf Hussain to the hospital after he was hit by a bullet when the VDC members opened fire. On the way the mob attacked the ambulance and dragged my son out, killing him onspot,” Khanday said. Khandayalleged that the police version is concocted to save the culprits. Pertinently, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar had said that on 10th August four persons sustained injuries after the communal trouble erupted at Paddar Gulabgarh while they were evacuating injured persons. “They were again attacked by the mob near the helipad in which one Lassa Khanday, attendant of one of the injured persons, went missing during the night and his dead body was found in the area on August 11 which flared up the situation in the area and stray incidents took place throughout the day.”
