My son will be graduating from Howard University Medical School - TopicsExpress

My son will be graduating from Howard University Medical School this weekend. On Friday, the graduates will participate in a ceremony where they will read the Hippocratic Oath - an oath stating the obligations and proper conduct of doctors, formerly taken by those beginning medical practice. Named after Hippocrates, the so-called father of medicine, this oath was created a century after his death, and is one of the oldest binding documents in history. BUT, what about the TRUE Father Of Medicine, Imhotep, Our African Ancestor - who held mastery in the disciplines of engineering, architecture, and medicine? How do we honor and recognize his contribution to medicine? I did some online research and found this - The Oath Of Imhotep. We will acknowledge and pay honor to respect to his contributions to World and Human Civilization. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2571702/?page=1
