My take on #MydressmyChoice As much as i detest stripping women, i believe with the whole of my heart that this is the Wrong way to go about this because this issue from the beginning has not been about the clothes those women wore. It has been about Women and men fighting over control. This has been an issue for years in the confines of homes and behind closed doors that has fortunately or unfortunately(your take) spilled over to our streets. That adage dawa ya moto ni moto does not work in such circumstances. All you end up doing is fueling the evil,by giving some idle, egotistical men a reason to keep attacking women, knowing someone on the social media, print media or a video camera will capture it and transmit it thereby keeping that thought alive that men are still in control in a society that increasingly tells them otherwise in every sector. I believe that the solution is do it Gods way, by handling this from the Family institution. Give our young men and women proper teaching as the days of Old. Raise a generation that tolerates each other, respects the rights of one another and learns to co exist. Give the boy child a chance to be empowered to as you empower the girl but in the meantime, let us stop sharing those videos, let us do the little we can to keep the women safe and Let women exercise wisdom when dealing with such men. Let The Law enforcers also do their work without us resorting to violence. Violence begets violence, so resorting to pepper sprays and tasers or any such things will fuel more violence on Women. Let us all play our parts. #mytake #I maybewrong #Istandtobecorrected
