My take on yesterdays elections: A tale of Two sister’s……one nation. My hope for our Country. You gotta win a little..you gotta lose a little All her life my mom was an activist. She became a conservative Republican who fights for the poor, the aged and future generations especially unborn babies. I am so proud of her! Her sister, my Aunt Marie is also an activist and a liberal democrat. All her life she fought for the poor, the aged and the future generations. I am so proud of her. Over the years I have witnessed strikes and rallies of all kinds, discussions of all kinds, some discussions louder than others. But I have always witnessed LOVE and sisters who respected each other’s opinions, while defending and fighting for the agenda of whatever cause they felt strongly about. They were family. Over the last years, this doesnt seem to be the case with our Country. However, among my friends, when discussing different issues we are calm and respectful with each other’s different beliefs and find that we have more in common even though we disagree. I think there are more people with this common sense attitude than there are extremists. People want to work together to get things done, despite the differences. I think yesterdays vote was against the fighting on both sides. I am praying for Peace and hoping that things will get done for the good of all people. I know there are people that say, things will continue as is and I am probably naive. But my prayer is that the fighting will stop and good things will be accomplished for children, the old, the rich and the poor and the in-between. Because none of us are going to live forever, why not make these days on earth a little kinder for everyone. Congratulation to all the winners...and Congratulations to all those that gave it your best shot...You put yourself out there!! Who knows how important yesterday’s election will be in the long tale of our nations life..but it is our measure of our democracy. Some days you win and some days you lose. But every day you are alive, you have to fight for good. That is your legacy as a person.
