My thoughts and observations on fb fyi when I first got on fb with, Jeff pulver in early days, back in the day, to me I saw fb and especially the social web as an amazing potential social sculpture that had no gate keeper too and was going to take over the world before the leaders and powers that be could figure out how to control it, it was like frog in slow boiling water and would change everything and it has, nothing is what it was - the social web revolution is a place where people, places, and ideas converge and my dream is one day the powers that be would declare a war, because that is their trade and what they do best -(it is said the trade of kings is war), and because of fb and twitter, etc nobody would show up! - so I friend and follow people and ideas and my daughter and her daughter and few other people actively and study the people I friend and who want to fb friend me to see if they are interesting or just interested in selling me something and I still do that - I also have people all over the world that I have put together and have never met too - but sadly my years of fb, twitter etc social web, personal research and observations has challenged me to rethink my original thunk and made me realize, though I try and be interesting, first to myself, I find rare sparks every once in a while from the maddening crowd but mostly people are too isolated and too busy being busy to respond or, for lack of better word, engage in meaningful conversation but their are a few who surface every once in a while and tickle my imagination - so I have sadly concluded I am not as interesting to other people as I am too myself :-) but I still try and surprise myself and to re-ignite the pilot light in others for some reason - our job in life is to do the impossible and so I am always looking for moments beyond the usual in my other worldly encounters :-) food for thought - fyi I also find my comments wind up as seeds for future fb status-updates too - my fb comment
