My thrifty parents taught me to avoid credit cards and borrowing - TopicsExpress

My thrifty parents taught me to avoid credit cards and borrowing money. I saved money and bought my first house (which I still own) for cash. The realtors were shocked. The mortgage I had on my second house was paid off as quickly as possible by selling a family house. Of all the cars I have owned only one was bought on a loan, Beware of mail order catalogs, they will foul up your credit ratings and charge exorbitant fees and interest. Worse still, you never get rid of the catalogs, they keep coming to me for 45 years, going back to ones my first wife dealt with. Jean has been plagued by mail order companies who do fraudulent business. Once your name gets on one mail order list you will soon be on dozens of mail order catalog lists. I take 10 pounds of mail order catalogs to recycle every week! Nuisance.
