My time in Singapore is dwindling down with only four short weeks - TopicsExpress

My time in Singapore is dwindling down with only four short weeks to go. I only have two weeks left in the semester, and then we receive a week off before two weeks of final exams. I will admit that initially being here was very difficult for me, because I did not know anyone. Yet, things have turned around and I really love it here. The weather is beautiful and the sun shines in such a great way that my mornings are great. This weekend I go to hang out with other exchange students and it was a blast. First, we spent all day at Singapore’s infamous Infinity Pool, which is 56 stories high and over looks the horizon of Singapore. From an afar view, it looks as if the pool water runs over into the actual city area, but there are barriers to stop this from happening. We stayed all day and watched the sun set. The environment was so calming, relaxing, and full of smiles. My entire trip here has begun to make sense and I fell myself growing intrinsically. Additionally, later that night we went to the movies to see “Thor.” It was great to fellowship with people from all over the world. There were students from Britain, Canada, U.S., Ireland, and Singapore that night. I love to hear their accents, because it shows their individuality and the place that they call home. We made plans to hang out more before our trip comes to an end. Since we receive a weeklong break before final exams, I will be traveling to Bali for five days with two other exchange students. I know that Bali will be a great experience and something I will never forget. Singapore has been a great place to call home for 18 weeks and I am proud of myself for taking advantage of the opportunity. My roommate is from India and she will be traveling to Europe to study abroad. This will be a fun experience for her and she is nervous about going, but I told her that I could make it her in Singapore then she will be fine in Europe! I am realizing how important it is to have an international view of the world, people, and the way things operate.
