Nominated for 11 academy awards but won none. The film adaptation of Alice Walkers best selling novel about the life and trials of a young African American woman. This film will make cry of sadness and pain and also from joy. The film is simply beautiful it warms the heart and nourishes the soul. Whoopi Goldberg in her best ever role. The film should in my opinion have won best picture at the 1986 academy awards, which went to Out of Africa. What does the M4s think of this film?
