My trip from Belleville to Knoxville this afternoon takes on a somber tone with the news of the passing of Bruce Bromme, Jr. this morning. Bruce was a great man, a fabulous crew chief and innovator in our sport. I will miss his kindness and friendship, and even his merciless teasing. I was lucky to know the guy beyond just the usual hey, how ya doing? race track ritual. I will miss him greatly. That said, I plan to go to the Hall of Fame and visit his plaque tonight, so I can see his face and say goodbye. Thanks for all the good times, Bruce. May you rest in peace.
