My unit shut down last night. I opened it again at 7am. Put a note on rig and door ambulance unit closed. Call 911 for further assistance. Been here 5 years and for 5 years they havent figured out an alternate schedule. Seriously 12 hr shifts are not hard to figure out. Set schedules. 4 days on 3 days off. Hardly ever needed a sick day to recover. I totally dont blame my co workers for calling out. They are truly tired. AMR is inn a great position for a take over. I foresee mass exodus if they ever decide to flex that muscle. I work with phenomenal people. Hardest workers Ive ever met. Dr. Rosen has been predicting this for awhile. Funny that this so called sick out wasnt planned and still got news attn. I love my job but I live on the most beautiful beaches in the world and I only get to see them on calls. Working our asses off to pay it all to the tax man . Its not a shortage, Its bad schedules. Fix the schedules and your staffing issues will fix themselves.
