My view on Late King Abdullahi of Kingdom of Saudi - TopicsExpress

My view on Late King Abdullahi of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون(Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return). May Almighty Allah dwell him in Jannatul Firdaus (the most beautiful paradise). Amin. King Abdullahi was born in 1924 in Riyadh, then the capital of newly created of KSA, his early years is little known. It was 1n 1962 that he rose to the kingdom ranks becoming a commander of the national guard, second deputy prime minister, first deputy prime minister and then crown prince and de facto ruler since in 1995 when half brother king Fahad fell to prolonged illness and in 2005 finally became king of KSA and the guardian of the two holy mosques. upon arrival he had inherited a kingdom torn by ideologically opposed groups, power hungry princess, double digit unemployment, impact of 9/11 event, growing terrorism at home and abroad, removal of Saddam Hussein from power, sectarian massacres in Iraq and raising Iranian influence in Middle east. He had overseen his early years of reign a notable of political and economic stability, improved security, lower unemployment, around 5% economic growth , attracting foreign investments, building new cities, universities and economic zones such as king Abdallulah city, greater prosperity felt at home. Thanks to the oil boom. Many will remember him the generously mega projects he pumped in to the Muslims holiest sites in Mecca and Medina. He administered the expansion of Baytul Haram, built huge infrastructure in and around the mosque to avoid stampede during the course of Haj days, probably minimized to zero for the recent years. Constructed roads, bridges and hotels to accommodates the guests of Allah and many other projects overlooking the mosque. My personal admiration goes for his valuable vision of introducing new clock system aligned in to the Islamic calendar. Mecca Mean time(MMT) or Islamic mean time(IMT) a magnificent tower and clock overlooking into the holy mosque, currently many Muslim countries are adjusting their clock into MMT and getting away from GMT. Thanks to Aljazeera which adjusted all programs into MMT. In all above facts, in a sense he is true guardian of holy mosques (Baytul Haramayn). But on the other side of the balance sheet, things does not seem so good both at home and abroad. Late king Abdullahi silenced dissents, oppressed Shia minorities in the east of the country, activists were prosecuted, clerics were arrested and denounced terrorism and rooted out terrorism acts in the mother land while on the other hand exporting radical terrorism ideology into abroad such as Somalia, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Mali and Iraq to install proxies implementing Saudi foreign policy interests. He and his other fellow kings and princes were initially financed, armed and provided diplomatic support what later became both a regional and international threat. He reversed the democratic transition in Egypt by financing and masterminding the coup detat that ousted President Mursi, Muslim brotherhood leader. Saudi Government gave 12 billion dollars in to Egypt to recover the ailing economy and to boost the moral authority of the military junta. His policies in Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iraq only resulted sectarian violence, descending into chaos, power vacuum, massacres in Iraq and Syria, growing terrorism elements in the region and beyond and more radicalization into the youth, unequivocally turned attention from Israel to Iran as enemy number one to misled Islamic world. ISIS or ISIL is pure example of the failed Saudi policies in the region. He did nothing to support the long suffering of Palestinians to end the brutal occupation of Israel instead most of the time Palestinian resistance movements subjected to Saudi sanctions. He voluntarily helped the removal of Saddam Hussein and Muamer Qadafi from power. Late King Abdullahi will be remembered ensuring the smooth succession into royal dynasty and betraying his fellow Muslims suffering in Palestine, Somalia, Iraq, Mali, Pakistan, Burma and many others places around the world. King Abdullahi died but his legacy will survive for decades to come. Burhan A. Hussein.
