My way, or His grace? 7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. ----1 Peter 4:7–9 Now here’s a hard thing to do. When we are in Christ, God doesn’t show us judgment, but rather grace. If we are to be imitating Jesus wouldn’t we do the same? My children are sinners. My love for them is huge, and it makes it easier to deal with their sins. Our tendency is to treat strangers worse than our loved ones. If an acquaintance wrongs us, we will easily cast them out. If we treat each other with love and without grumbling how much sweeter would life be? 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.----1 Peter 4:10–11 We see here to do things in the power of God and not our own. When we trust in God’s power rather than our own, we see the working of God and He gets all the glory. Usually too, if I do something on my own it tends to fall apart. When I do it God’s way things seem to work out, period. May you serve God today in His power. JS
