My whole life I have put others before myself... I dont regret it.... Its just who I am. But each day as I get older... when there are fewer days ahead than there are behind, I realize that Ive done this at the expense of my soul .... This cannot be good, right? I continue to try and hold on to relationships with people that I thought I knew... I have made so very many a priority in my life when they have made it very clear that I am nothing more than an option in theirs. Its that awkward moment in life when you thought you were important to someone but you really werent. Because if you were.... they would do WHATEVER was needed to make SURE that you KNEW that you were THAT important to them.... right???? RIGHT!?!?!? A phone call... An unexpected HANDWRITTEN note in the mail just so say Im thinking of you... a conversation of listening and understanding, a shoulder to just lean on instead of a diatribe of opinions and finger pointing at the things that someone else feels that needs to be corrected in your life because you suck at it ... I think its time to stop watering the weeds in my life... and start watering the flowers ...
