My whole life I thought that poison ivy rashes were contagious and that you could spread the rash to other parts of your body by breaking the blisters and/or scratching the rash. Well per WebMD I just found out that isnt true. Scratching the rash doesnt spread it, breaking the blisters doesnt spread it, and it is not contagious. The only way for the rash to appear on other parts of your body is if the rash is still developing which can take days, or if you touched something again that had the plant oil on it.
