My wife, and ergo...probably a lot of Hispanics, is nervous about all the hate being shown on the border towards the undocumented alien children currently flooding the country. Its hard to imagine how bad things have to be in Central America for women, for mothers and fathers, to send their children...often alone...to a strange, new, unwelcoming country, far away, maybe never to hear from them again. We can be smug, bigoted, hateful and even loud...sure, but imagine if things got that bad here, if your children were in constant danger from our own government, corrupt soldiers and police, drug lords, rebels...and maybe shutting up and showing a little compassion would be not only the right thing, the nice thing, but the ONLY thing we should do.
