My wife is from China and grew up in the Cultural Revolution. China said everyone worked for the state and no one was special and no one should make more for working more or harder. Result, a very capitalist nation of people came to the only logical decision... they stopped doing any more than they had to for themselves, nothing extra. Millions starved!!! Then came the experiments of Deng Xiao-ping where farmers, if they grew more than their quota, could sell the excess for themselves... OVERNIGHT the farmers were the new rich and used their money to build factories all over the countryside to make buttons or zippers or whatever there was a need for. The country woke up! Moral of the story, if we can not learn from studying capitalism, let us pray we learn from the experience of socialism!!!
