My wonderful Dad died 5 years ago on November 1. My sister and I were lucky to have a feminist dad who encouraged us in school, in sports, and in art; who taught us how to play tennis and make models; who was a fully-participating dad who attended our school shows and actually did a lot of stuff with us despite his high-profile job as an aeronautical engineering pioneer who had a large role in the creation of the Canadair Challenger, the Airbus, and many other landmark airplanes. My sister and I miss Dad every day.
