#MyThoughts Free and fair polls may bring a real socio economic change in a suppressed society or may force the oppressed classes to provide justice at gross root levels or to the bottom layer of the society. Such messages are being delivered from the two containers in the Red Zone. At the peak of the crisis a joint session of the parliament gave a clear cut message that only the existing parliament can run the affairs smoothly to drive the nation to its destination or will help the state to become a sovereign and a welfare one. Difference of two opinions is confusing the lay man badly. The question arises who can safeguard the vested interests of proletarian class of the country. A parliament emerged through a defamed electoral process or so called revolutionaries and freedom lovers sitting on Shahra-e-Dastoor. The infrastructures of parties sitting in front of the parliament proclaiming revolution, a new Pakistan and parties sitting in the parliament are of same nature. Imran and Qadri are demanding resignation of the Prime Minister or dissolution of the assembly to wrap up the corrupt system .The demands are also for registration of FIR against the culprits responsible for massacre in Lahore and Islamabad, besides awarding punishment to the responsible ones of rigging in the elections and the consequent beneficiaries. The parliament, with some reservations, is standing united to support the Government and not to accept the illegal and unlawful demands of marchers. The speakers of the opposition strongly condemned the behavior of the Government and blamed that it has entirely failed to deliver what it should have. They also admit that the grievances of protesters cannot be ignored. The dilemma of the country is that establishment wants to maintain the status quo, because it is the real beneficiary of this corrupt system who does not allow anyone to change the system or poor of the country to be benefited. If we have before us the history of 67 years of this full of resources country, establishment is totally successful to maintain the status quo by giving different slogans e.g ‘’Nazariya-e-Zarurat”, “Nizam-e-Mustafa”, “Roti, Kapra aur Makan” , “Sab Say Pehlay Pakistan” or ‘Jamhooriyat Behtareen Inteqam hai” etc etc. 1. What is Establishment? 2. What is Democracy? The Establishment is a group in a society exercising power and influence over matters of policy, opinion, or taste, and seen as resisting change. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. No doubt real democratic system may lead the country towards its destiny of social justice, prosperity and may give life to the suppressed classes in the country. But, who will bring the change or real democratic system? Answer is very simple and one can find in the above narrated definitions of Establishment and Democracy. The time when the suppressed classes will be able to recognize the faces, the group of people who resist change will be the time of real change. This is not so difficult to recognize such faces who are the real beneficiaries of this corrupt system and status quo, whether these faces are sitting in the parliament or standing at the rooftop of the containers.
