Mysterious deep-sea creatures found by China’s manned submersible Jiaolong #Chinas manned deep sea submersible, the #Jiaolong, discovered two #mysterious #creatures from the seabed of the southwestern #IndianOcean on Wednesday. As of Friday morning, scientists have not been able to explain what the origins of the creature are. With a size similar to a regular #seacucumber, the first creature, which is transparent, broke into three parts when it was taken to the vessel and scientists could clearly see its blue and brown viscera. This might be a special kind of sea cucumber, but we need to make sure after further analysis in labs, said Lu Bo, a scientist with the Second Institute of Oceanography of the State Oceanic Administration. Looking like a small pink snake, the second mysterious organism, 30 centimeters long and three centimeters wide, is completely unknown for the scientists due to limited tools and data on the ship. The manned submersible ship is on a 120-day expedition in the southwest Indian Ocean to conduct a variety of scientific research projects.
