Myth or Fact: SB 310 is just a temporary freeze and will not impact current investments or jobs. MYTH! Freezing Ohio’s clean energy standards will have an utterly harmful impact on businesses, consumers, and job creators in this state. By “temporarily holding” our standards at their 2014 levels, Ohio will create a volatile market, which will create a lot of uncertainty and dissuade investors and job creators from locating and expanding in the state. SB 310’s own language makes clear that Ohio legislators’ intent is “to enact legislation in the future…that will reduce the [clean energy] mandates… if there are to be any.” SB 310 implies that Ohio doesn’t need the business, investments, or jobs brought to the state by clean energy companies—like the $6 billion in investments from more than 10 clean energy companies that will go elsewhere if SB 310 is passed. bit.ly/1nzUpOv #StopSB310
